CAL FIRE and Alder Camp fire crews work to contain a wildland fire at California Highway 169 and Terwer Valley Road in Klamath Wednesday afternoon. The blaze, which was reported at about 4:45 p.m., burned up a steep slope, consuming a one-quarter acre area. CAL FIRE Battalion Chief Jim Smith said it was fortunate the fire occurred early in the season because the moisture kept the blaze small. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
