Klamath man faces charge of lewd acts

A Klamath man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion   on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14.

Fred R. Stockett, 60, of Klamath was arrested outside of the Sheriff’s Office, said sheriff’s Commander Bill Steven.

An arrest warrant was crafted by the Del Norte County District Attorney’s Office and Yurok Public Safety and signed by Del Norte County Superior Court Judge William Follett, District Attorney Jon Alexander said.

“Further investigation and other interviews are ongoing,” said Alexander. “That’s all of the details we’re prepared to release at this time.”

Stockett is being held in the Del Norte County Jail on $100,000 bond.

Stockett is a well-known landlord in the Klamath area. He owns 54 parcels of land and a majority of them are trailer spaces, according to records at the Del Norte County Assessor Office.
