Locksmith’s tools stolen from storage

Items could make burglaries easier

A burglar stole a locksmith’s tools earlier this week, equipping the person with the ability to access houses and cars with greater ease, authorities said.

A man reported Sunday that sometime during the night his storage was broken into and a master key, key duplicator and decommissioned magnetic signs for his business were stolen, said sheriff’s Commander Tim Athey.

Also missing was a tool to open car doors, he added.

The magnetic signs read “Bob’s Mobile Lock and Key” and lists an outdated phone number of 707-464-5544, Athey said.

The signs can be placed on the side of a vehicle, he said.

Athey said the tools enable the thief to gain entry into houses more easily.

“People should still be cognizant of what’s going on around them and their area,” said Athey.

Anyone with information relating to the burglary or may have seen a vehicle with the signs attached is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 464-4191.
