Six Rivers National Forest is hosting a meeting and discussion on Wednesday focused on the forest’s wildfires this past season, which saw more than 50,000 acres burn away in or near Six Rivers boundaries.
The 2013 Post Fire Season Meeting will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Willow Creek Veterans Hall, 20 Kimtu Road, Willow Creek.
Any interested individuals or groups are invited to hear an overview presentation on the season’s wildfires and offer comment on how well the forest service responded to fires on Six Rivers.
Forest Service said officials hope to address two main questions through the meeting:
“What was done that was positive, effective and efficient?” and “What can we improve on in advance of the 2014 fire season?”
Questions can be directed to Forest Fire Chief Mike Minton at (707) 441-3535.
