Missing woman may have been killed, sheriff says

By Nicholas Grube

Triplicate staff writer

A woman who has been missing for five days is presumed dead and may be a potential murder victim.

The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office is investigating the woman's disappearance after they received a tip from an acquaintance saying she was dead.

Details are sparse at this point due to the ongoing investigation, but Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson said deputies still have not found the woman and are following up on some leads.

Wilson included that the missing woman has a history of drug abuse and might have died from an overdose. But, he said, the Sheriff's Office is not ruling out any possibilities until they find the woman.
