Investigators and rescue workers at the scene of the accident Tuesday. Del Norte Triplicate/Emily Jo Cureton A McKinleyville woman was listed in serious condition Wednesday after a motorcycle collision south of Crescent City on Tuesday morning.
Kelsey L. Reedy, 21, of McKinleyville was injured when her motorcycle collided with a 1993 Buick slowing to make a left turn onto Enderts Beach Road, said California Highway Patrol Officer John Mola.
Reedy was thrown over the car and came to a rest on her back in the
southbound lane of the highway about 40 feet from the impact, Mola said.
“It is unknown whether she was going to attempt to pass on the left side or if she wasn’t able to react in time,” said Mola.
Reedy was wearing a helmet that was damaged in the accident, he said.
“It most definitely saved her life,” said Mola.
Reedy was taken to Sutter Coast Hospital and later transported to
Mercy Medical Center in Redding where she was listed in serious
condition Wednesday afternoon.
Rebecca J. Blaylock, 44, of Crescent City, driver of the Buick, was uninjured.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour.
