The long time tenant of a decaying building at Crescent Citys entrance is going out of business.

Less than a week after building owner Darryl Lovaas submitted a letter and a picture of his plans to remodel to the Daily Triplicate, the Nice Twice thrift and adult novelty store is preparing to close down.

An employee of the store, who declined to be identified, stated the Nice Twice owners kept the business for approximately 20 years and are now tired of it.

The City Planning Department shows a record of a demolition permit issued to Lovaas for that location, and building inspector Dave Brewer said Lovaas has recently agreed to engage a contractor to dismantle the crumbling carport attached to the building. A building permit, however, has not been requested or issued, according to city records.

In Lovaas Aug. 15 letter to the editor he said, My property is for sale, lease or trade. I will build to suit for a qualified tenant.

Attempts to speak with Lovaas about a pending sale, or lease, or remodeling project were unsuccessful.
