No cemetery flowers till Memorial Day

In preparation for Memorial Day activities, Wier’s Mortuary is asking that flowers not be placed at the Del Norte County Veteran’s, IOOF Memorial, Masonic and St. Joseph Catholic cemeteries after Wednesday.

 

Tributes and keepsakes present should be removed on Wednesday as well. 

Flowers may be placed for Memorial Day weekend on May 23.

Fundraiser for scholarships Sat.

The Crescent City community can help raise money for local scholarships by attending the Emblem Club’s Spring Fling on Saturday.

The event will feature a fashion show by Chere’s Boutique. Door prizes and tables decorated by Emblem Club members will also be featured at the event.

People can also decorate and host a table.

Lunch will be a chicken salad croissant, pasta salad, dessert and a beverage.

The event will take place at noon Saturday at the Arts and Crafts Building at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds. Tickets are available at Wendy’s Beauty Salon at 934 Fourth Street in Crescent City.
