No injuries in vehicle rollover and fire on 199

A vehicle caught fire and rolled over an embankment on U.S. Highway 199 on Monday morning.

No one was injured and traffic was not delayed.

The California Highway Patrol, state Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and U.S. Forest Service responded to the vehicle fire.

Edward Lacy was driving his 1999 Ford Explorer when he pulled over near the Sandy Beach River Access area about 20 miles from the Oregon border, said CHP Officer Kent Davis. The vehicle caught fire and rolled over an embankment, he said.

A Cal Fire crew extinguished the blaze and a tow truck removed the vehicle, Davis said.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
