Grade school lineups may shuffle

Plan would mean each school holds just three grades

Elementary schoolteachers in Del Norte County frequently face the task of teaching two grades in one class.


That could change under an option to reconfigure the four elementary schools in and around Crescent City to house only three grade levels apiece instead of six or seven.

Crews work to stabilize beach bluffs along Pebble Beach Drive

One of the world’s largest nail guns is hanging over a cliff on Pebble Beach Drive.


And in this case, the “nails” are 15 feet long.


Del Norte County is reinforcing the cliffside along Pebble Beach Drive near the Pacific Avenue intersection, Holly Cinkutis, assistant county engineer, said Saturday.
