A woman suspected of being involved in a burglary at the Crescent Beach Overlook was arrested in the Grocery Outlet parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 5 p.m., a National Park ranger recognized Lacy M. Phillips, 28, in the parking lot off 3rd Street, and she was subsequently arrested, said Chief Ranger Marshall Neeck.

Phillips is suspected of being one of three culprits in a November fuel theft from a vehicle parked at the overlook, which was interrupted when the car’s owner returned, Ranger Dave Keltner said.

Phillips, Jack Althof and a juvenile are alleged to have fled in their own car, almost striking the person who interrupted the burglary, Keltner said.

With the aid of Oregon authorities and the U.S. Marshal, a warrant was issued for Althof and Phillips’ arrest in February, Keltner said.

Althof was located in the Curry County jail and extradited to Del Norte facilities where he faces trial for charges related to the incident, Keltner said.

Althof faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, vandalism and conspiracy.

Phillips was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, vandalism, petty theft and conspiracy.
