Safety project scheduled on U.S. Hwy. 101

Caltrans has scheduled a safety project on U.S. Hwy. 101 south of Crescent City beginning on an as yet unscheduled date this summer.

The project will improve safety in the area of Cushing Creek from 0.3 miles north of Mill Creek Access Road to 0.7 miles south of Hamilton Road.

Work includes a concrete median barrier, speed detection and display sign for north-bound motorists, and a new friction course to improve pavement traction.

Anticipate one-way traffic control and up to 20-minute delays until the project is completed in the fall.
