Several area road projects wrapping up

Several state Department of Transportation projects that have been underway in Del Norte and Humboldt counties pack up tomorrow.

In Del Norte County, projects on U.S. Hwy. 101 and State Hwy. 197 are among them.

The Hwy. 101 project continued work to widen Gilbert Creek Bridge, with one-way traffic control and 15-minute delays affecting motorists.

The project on Hwy. 197 involved tree trimming work between Ashford Road and Ruby VanDeventer Park. That project also impacted traffic movement, but with short, five-minute delays.

In Humboldt County, a project on State Hwy. 96 to build a rockfall barrier from .8-1.3 miles east of Slate Creek will also end. The project included periodic 20-minute road closures.

A project on Hwy. 101 to repair a sink hole about 2 miles north of Redcrest also ends. That project had restricted traffic to one lane of direction.
