Students honor elders, 'Local Heroes'

Five Klamath River Early College of the Redwoods students plan to honor their elders through a community action project called Local Heroes.

The students' goal is to publicly recognize the tribal elders they feel have made a difference in their community.

Some stand out because of their military record, others as role models to their community.

"They've done so much ... none of these people are recognized, so it's up to us," said Raven Eldredge, 14, an Early College of the Redwoods student.
