Sunshine likely to go on awhile |
Note to inland residents: It’s going to be nice on the coast the rest of the week and through the weekend. It’s going to nice inland too, but a December sunny spell in Del Norte feels like a special occasion. The North Coast is still riding the wave of sunny fall days as it heads into December and closer to the official start of winter. “Crisp mornings, sunny days and clear nights” are forecast to continue through the weekend and into next week, said Doug Boushey, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Eureka. The only downside is some patchy fog, light winds and maybe frost overnight, he said. A high pressure system to the north has been dominating the weather lately, Boushey said, while an offshore flow keeps the fog at bay. Temperatures will be in the upper-50s during the day and dipping below 40 degrees the next few nights on the coast and inland. “We’re looking at some fairly nice weather,” Boushey said. |
