Police tased and arrested a 46-year-old Crescent City man Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a bus driver and pulled a knife on officers.
Edward A. Reyna was charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, assault and for having a felony bench warrant, said Crescent City Acting Police Chief Garrett Scott.
Reyna shoved a Redwood Coast Transit bus driver shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday in the bus that was parked in front of the Cultural Center, Scott said.
After two officers arrived on the scene and with the help of the bus driver located Reyna, they tried to arrest him, Scott said.
Reyna, however, took a fighting stance and challenged the officers, Scott said, so Officer Eric Capon pulled his taser and pointed it toward the man.
That's when Reyna pulled a 12-inch-knife from his side, Scott said, but he was taken to the ground as Capon deployed the taser.
