By month's end, travelers to Del Norte County whose laptop computers are compatible with wireless Internet can access the services at the terminal.

"The county IT Department is doing the install," said Airport Manager Jim Bernard. "It will allow free Wi-Fi access at the terminal building for the public.

Arcata/Eureka Airport Terminal is announcing Wi-Fi service at its location today.

The Wi-Fi service brings both terminals into a relatively small group of such facilities nationwide. Wi-Fi enables passengers whose laptops are set up correctly to check their e-mail, surf the ‘Net or download information from anywhere in the terminal.

Access is free, and no proprietary software must first be installed.
