Barbara Elevera Wallace (Oct. 6, 1924 – June 9, 2014)

Barbara Elevera Wallace passed away on June 9, 2014, in Crescent City. She was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Eureka, Calif. A native of Humboldt County, she moved to Del Norte County in 1964. Barbara was a member of ABWA, Order of Eastern Star, Crescent City Emblem Club. She assisted with Easter Seals, and along with her husband, Russell, she was a member of the American Legion and Women’s Auxiliary. Barbara was a greeter at Walmart for six years and was elected National Greeter by Walmart. She loved her flower garden; her yard was her pride and joy. Barbara was proud of all grandchildren, and they thought her chocolate chip cookies were the best.

She is survived by her son, Russell Wallace Jr. of Willow Creek; daughter Marilyn  Whisenhunt of Toledo, Ore.; grandchildren Marjori Wallace, Stone Wallace and Sandi Wallace, all of Willow Creek; Tina Woodhull and Jeffery Davis, both of Toledo, Ore.; Bonnie Whisenhunt of Louisiana; Donna Magnam and Joyce Embree, both of Crescent City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Wallace Sr., parents George and Nellie Moore; son Thomas George Wallace, grandsons Jerry Davis and Wayne Whisenhunt.

The family requests contributions be made to the Order of Eastern Star.

At Barbara’s request, no services will be held.
