LeRoy H. McKean

LeRoy H. McKean, of Smith River, died April 14, 2009, at home. LeRoy was born December 27, 1942, in Hanford, Calif. to  Edward E. and Leonore F. McKean. 

On 1990 LeRoy moved to Smith River to start work at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City as a Stationary Engineer.  He retired on 2004, after a while he started work for fun at ACE Hardware store in Brookings. 

He enjoyed hunting and going to the shooting range.

Suvivors include his loving wife Graciela McKean of Smith River; sons and daughters-in-law Jon R. and Lisa McKean, Kenneth A. and Angela McKean; grandchildren Ryan, Heidi and Brycen McKean of Fresno, Calif. 

Sisters and brothers-in-law Marjorie and Lester Cooper; Marilyn and Edward Rush of Hanford, Calif; mother in-law Abigael Garcia, brother in-law Adolfo Cardenas, sister-in-law and brother in-law Maria and Brian Walker, nephews Caleb Walker, JohnFranco Archuleta, Brian L. Walker and Briana Maria Walker of Brookings.

He was a wonderful husband, loving father, and a friend to all.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass  will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E Street, Crescent City, Father Epperson will officiate. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
