Obiruary: Barbara A. Walker Long (Oct. 1, 1961 - Apr. 14, 2009)

Barbara Ann Long, 47, of Medford passed Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1961 in Fort Ord (Monterey), CA to Robert and Doris (Covey) Walker. She is survived by her parents, Bob and Doris; her husband of 8 years, Darrell Long; step children, Sarah Long, Susan Long, and Andrew Long; her siblings, Robert and Gayla Walker, Sara Sherman and Mark and Rena Walker; and her aunt and uncle, Betty and Jim Skillen. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Perry and Eloise (Nan) McPherren. 

Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for Erickson Air Crane, having come to the Rogue Valley from Crescent City, CA. A member of the NRA, she volunteered as an instructor with the Oregon Hunter Education program and enjoyed many other hobbies like hunting, crocheting, knitting, tatting (making lace), and caring for her beloved pets. She will be greatly missed by all those lucky enough to have known what a sweet and caring person she was.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Memory Gardens Chapel, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, OR. A reception will follow. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Memory Gardens Memorial Park and Mortuary are in care of the arrangements.
