Obituaries: Alma Catherine Norman (Sept. 14, 1924 – April 14, 2011)

Alma Catherine Norman, 86, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away quietly on April 14, 2011.

She was born and raised in Okeene, Okla., the third of five children of Pete and Mary Adams. Alma attended business school after she graduated from high school. She moved to San Francisco at 17. She married James Norman, August 31, 1944. They remained married for 56 years.

Alma was blessed with three children, two grandchildren and two great-granchildren. The greatest joy in her life was family and her little dog Mikey. Alma enjoyed her life in Crescent City.

Alma Catherine Adams Norman remained a devout Catholic throughout her life. She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Evans and Betty Norman, a brother, Lawrence (Pete) Adams and a sister, Mary Jane Adams Swank. The family expresses sincere appreciation, especially to You in Eureka for her final year.

Arrangements were handled by Pierce Mortuary in Eureka.
