Obituaries: Alvin Milton Hill (April 29, 1960 – Aug. 20, 2011)

Alvin Milton Hill passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Redding on August 20, 2011. Alvin was born on April 29, 1960, to Russel Hill and Jennie Hill in Crescent City.

Alvin has been a resident of Del Norte County on and off his whole life. He worked for Dahlstrom and Watt bulb farms, Shell gas station and Eureka and Castle Rock fisheries. He was also known for doing drywall work with his uncle. Alvin enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and living life to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife Staci Hill, sons Thomas John Hill and Michael Hill, and his daughter Jennie Hill. He is also survived by his stepfather Thomas Ford.

He was preceded in death by his son Dustin James Moore, his mother Jennie Ford (Hill) and father Russel Hill, and brother Rawleigh Howard Jones. His uncles Paul Troyak and Rawleigh Troyak Jr. and his grandparents.

A potluck celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at 6360 Kings Valley Road (The Ranch) from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m.
