Bettie Ellen Blair passed away May 18, 2008, in Prineville, Ore. She was 76 years old. A memorial service was held May 19 at the Calvary Chapel in Madras, Ore, with Pastor Casey Brooks officiating.
Bettie was born May 18, 1932, in Los Angeles. She was in the U.S. Army Tour of Europe during the Korean War; she was a Girl Scout leader; professional cake decorator; performed in theatrical arts; clowning; barber shop quartet and choir,
She raised five children as a single mother. On June 8, 1970, she married Raymond Blair in Crescent City.
Bettie loved to crochet, research genealogy and write children's stories.
She is survived by her husband Raymond H. Blair of Prineville; daughters Pamela Fisher of Prineville and Terry Morrison of Kellogg, Idaho; sons Jerry Morrison of Dublin, Va., Donald Morrison of Crescent City and Benjamin Morrison of Winston, Ore; three children by marriage, Ruthella Floyd of Smith River, Raymond W. Blair of Arcata and Donna Mack, Moreno Valley; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents John and Myrtle Chadsey; brother Benjamin Chadsey; sister Shirley Fagan; and granddaughter Cynthia Barnes.
