Obituaries: Blaine Earl Giddings(1954-2007)

Blaine Earl Giddings, 53, died on Oct. 7, 2007 in Crescent City. A lifelong resident of Del Norte County he was born on May 14, 1954 at Seaside Hospital, Crescent City. Blaine attended grade school at the Seventh-Day Adventist School, middle school at Redwood in Fort Dick and graduated from Del Norte High School. He was a Union construction worker for 30 years. Mr. Giddings was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

His hobbies included hiking, swimming, surf boarding, bike riding and spending time with his friends. Working on his property gave Blaine much enjoyment.

He is survived by his siblings, Ellie Rhodes of Medford, Ore., Albert Giddings Jr. of Gasquet, Lorena Harris of Paradise, Norman Giddings of Crescent City, Evelyn Giddings of Eureka, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both his father Albert in 1998 and mother Guyla in 2003.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.

Contributions may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church School, 1770 Northcrest Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
