Blanche Lillian Balder, 93, of Crescent City, died on Saturday, June 4, 2011, in Brookings, Ore. She was born on February 20, 1918 in Watsonville, Calif. After her retirement from the State of California, she and her loving husband of 38 years, Vern, who preceded her in death, traveled extensively across the United States. She always had a smile on her face, and brought joy to everyone she was around. Blanche was a wonderful fun person and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was a member of the Pelican Bay Evangelical Free Church.
She was the beloved mother of Darlene Sanchez of Crescent City, and Patsy Myaer of Jacksonville, Fla. She had six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Friday, June 10,
from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at
Wier’s Chapel. Immediately following services, a fellowship will be
held at the Pelican Bay Evangelical Free Church, 160 Blueberry Lane,
Crescent City.
Interment will take place at the Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville
Road, Napa, Calif., on Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of
Crescent City.
