Brad Louis Richter, born April 22, 1955 in Bourne, Mass., passed away in Crescent City on Nov. 1, 2007. Brad was a 15-year resident of Del Norte County. He loved to hike and bike, and he was learning to fly fish. Brad was looking forward to this season's salmon run.

He was an accomplished horticulturist. He loved gardening and working with his bonsai and orchids. He was a man who loved his family and had a dry wit. Brad felt that living in Gasquet and Del Norte County was a true gift. As a young boy he and his family vacationed in Gasquet at a little cabin.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years Verna and their daughter Aleece. He is also survived by his parents Rick and Lee Richter, his two sisters Susan Mikschl and Meagan Walters, eight nieces and nephews and one grandniece.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at the Gasquet Bible Church, located at 1340 Gasquet Flat Road in Gasquet.

A fellowship following services will be held at the American Legion Hall, Post 548, 1555 Gasquet Flat Road in Gasquet.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mountain School Garden Project, 55 Azalea Lane, Gasquet, CA 95543, or the Del Norte Scholarship Foundation, 275 Elk Valley Road, Crescent City, CA 95531.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
