Carl "Dusty" Rhodes II, born on July 27, 1948, in Wasco, passed away March 13, 2008, in Klamath. He was a Del Norte County resident for 15 years.
Dusty was the owner-operator of the Rhodes' End Bed and Breakfast in the Klamath Glen. He was a member of the chambers of commerce in Crescent City and Klamath.
He had also been a member of numerous local car clubs and had a passion for restoring vintage vehicles. One of his favorite projects was the restoration of his 1940 Indian Chief motorcycle.
He also personally restored the bed and breakfast.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Marshall, of Klamath Glen; children Carl "Rocky" Rhodes III, and Jay and wife Nita Rhodes, all of Crescent City; grandchildren Carl Austin Rhodes IV of Manteca, Ivy Lynn Rhodes and Jason Rhodes, both of Crescent City; brother James Rhodes of Crescent City; sister Gena Victoria Miller of Manteca; and step-father James Miller of Stockton.
A "last ride celebration" will be held at the Rhodes' End Bed & Breakfast, 115 Trobitz Road, Klamath Glen, on March 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
