David was born Oct. 1, 1951, in Crescent City. He grew up in Smith River and graduated from Del Norte High School. He then lived, worked and raised his family in the Smith River area.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis; sisters Rayona, Janelle and Dawn; wife Lisa; children and stepchildren Dionne, Courtney, Joshua, Sydney, Josh and Jenna; grandchildren Marjorie, Riley and Kaiden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

There will be a memorial potluck for David on Saturday, March 5, at Howonquet Hall Community Center in Smith River at 12 p.m.
