Doris D. Richardson, 86, of Crescent City, passed away in July 19, 2011, in Brookings, Ore. She was born on July 28, 1924, in Gem, Thomas County, Kansas, to Almarene and Ruby Dryden. Doris moved to Crescent City around 1944. She was a waitress for many years and then went to work as a secretary at Pine Grove School. In 1962, she married Warren Richardson.
Doris enjoyed all types of sewing, making many quilts for her kids and their families. She also made quilts and Barbie doll clothes for different charities. Doris was a volunteer at Seaside Hospital with the Pink Ladies for several years. She loved gardening and canning the fruits of her labor
Doris is survived by her children, Gary Richardson (Jane) of Boise,
Idaho; Bill Richardson of Crescent City; Ruby Kibbee (Steve) of
Fairbanks, Alaska; Lee Richardson (Sharon) of Crescent City; Robert
Barrett (Kaye) of Crescent City; Janet Gavin (Kenneth) of Crescent City;
Patty Johnson (John) of Pocatello, Idaho, and Marilyn Restad (Keith) of
Crescent City. Also 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren in 1999; brother Al
Dryden in 2000; sister Christina Woolford, July 8, 2011, and grandson,
Randy Richardson in 1966.
Visitation will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Monday, July 25,
from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with graveside services following at IOOF
Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m.
