Edna F. Meadows of Jacksonville, Ore., died in her sleep Feb. 16, 2008, after suffering a stroke. Edna was born July 13, 1916, in Ink, Mo., to Clarence C. and Martha J. Wallace.

The family moved to Crescent City, and Edna grew up here.

She enjoyed many activities and different careers throughout her life . She worked in the shipyards in Eureka during World War II, owned a children's clothing store in partnership with her sister, Ruth, in Eureka. She moved back to Crescent City and taught kindergarten at Pine Grove School for many years after receiving her degree from Humboldt State and Southern Oregon College.

Some years after the death of her first husband, she married E. K. Meadows and they moved to the Rogue Valley after he sold his business in Crescent City. Once they settled in Jacksonville they began to buy and renovate historical homes and that became her favorite pastime, along with working in her yard, playing the fiddle and collecting antique furniture and dolls.

Edna is survived by daughters, Lorna R. DeCamp of Medford and Marilyn Wilson and son in-law, Don Wilson, of Jacksonville; two grandsons, Brent Wilson (Gina) of Baggs, Wyo., and Blaine Wilson (Donna) of Medford; one great-granddaughter, Callie of Baggs, and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Jesse of Medford; stepsons, Jim Meadows, of Reno, Nev., and Jerry Meadows (Patti) of Sparks, Nev.; two step-grandchildren, Tad, of Sparks and Ciara of Maryland; sister Ruby Jeanne McNamara of Orick; brother Clarence C. Wallace of Dallas, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, E. K. Meadows, and her first husband, Horace Swiney, father, Clarence Wallace, mother, Martha Wallace, sisters, Willia Bosch, Ruth Bosch, Pauline Drake, Lenna LaRoe, and special friend for many years, Phil Veling.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Conger-Morris in Medford and Wier's Mortuary in Crescent City.

Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Crescent City followed by a memorial service at the Church of Christ with Chris Tripp officiating. A second memorial will be held in Jacksonville on Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Historical Presbyterian Church on East California Street.
