Elden McFeran, 50, died June 16, 2007, of complications related to diabetes, in San Jose.
He was born in San Jose on Oct. 30, 1956, to Elden Sr. and Mary McFeran and moved to Smith River with his family in 1975. He returned to San Jose in 1977 to marry his sweetheart, Denise Nunes, and make his home.
He was employed for 15 years at Food Machinery Incorporated, and worked as an Administrative Assistant with Del Norte Career center for a year in 1998.
His family was the most important thing to him, but he also enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
He also enjoyed flea marketing, garage sales, baseball, and helping others.
He is survived by his parents, Mary and Elden McFeran Sr. of Smith River; his sisters, Terri (David) Williams of Sonora and Barbara (Jake) Oliver of Smith River; his brother, Donald McFeran of Smith River; his wife, Denise Nunes of San Jose; and his sons, Elden McFeran III and Nicholas McFeran.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are planned for 1 p.m. at Calvary Church, 16330 Los Gatos Blvd., Los Gatos.
Arrangements are under the direction of the California Cremation Society.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
