Elizabeth Joan DeMeo-Palmer passed away March 27, 2008, at the age of 84 in Crescent City.
Elizabeth or "Betty" was born to Joseph and Frances Kondrad in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 6, 1923.
Betty grew up during the Depression, contributed to the war efforts, raised nine children, and outlived three husbands. Her great passions were cooking for her family and crocheting. She enjoyed her later years as a member of the local crochet club, where she taught and exchanged ideas with "the girls."
Elizabeth is survived by four children, Carole Banks, Marlene VanZant, Jim DeMeo and Jackie DeMeo; four additional children through marriage, MaryAnn Watson, Dee Curtis, Carl Citarelli and Theresa Carey; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Citarelli-Murray.
Interment was held at the Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside on Monday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
