Obituaries: Elverna J. LaFranchi (April 14, 1922 – July 31, 2011) |
Elverna J. LaFranchi, died July 31, 2011, after a fatal car accident. Born April 14, 1922, in Orleans, Calif., Elverna went to a Native American boarding school in Riverside, Calif., until the age of 18. She was a homemaker her entire life. Elverna also was a caregiver to many. She loved to sing and play the piano. Elverna also was very devoted to the church. Wherever she would go or whoever she would see she would always bring joy and happiness. Elverna was a very giving and loving woman. She will be missed by all. Surviving are two daughters, Edwina Merrill of Cheney, Wash., Lenee “Tooty” Reali, and son-in-law John Reali of Elk Grove, Calif.; three grandchildren, Tamara Triplett, LaTasha Reali, and Jeremy Reddig; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel, Crescent City, with Pastor Mike from Klamath United Methodist officiating. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life fellowship at Klamath United Methodist Church, 126 Redwood Drive, Klamath, Calif., starting at 1 p.m. Private interment will take place at Blue Lake Cemetery, Blue Lake, Calif.
