Pastor Frank Fillmore Gruver, 71, died on Oct. 21, 2007 in Crescent City. He was born July 25, 1936 in Fremont, Neb. He was a 20-year resident of Del Norte County. Pastor Gruver served during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. He then went on to Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary from 1966 to 1968. He served as a pastor for over 27 years. Frank loved collecting, repairing and making clocks. He loved to work with his hands. Frank also enjoyed music and singing.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Harrison Gruver; daughters Debra Langworthy and husband Tom of North Tonawanda, NY, Corrine Thogmartin and husband Mark of Crescent City; son Daryl Gruver and wife Angela of Aledo, Texas ; grandchildren Naomi Langworthy of North Tonawanda, NY, Michael Perry and wife Stephanie of Coos Bay, Ore., Thomas Perry and wife Kathleen of Brookings, Scott Perry of Salem, Ore., Krista Gruver of Spring Valley, Samantha Petrigni of Aledo, Texas, Rebecca Gruver of Aledo, Texas, Travis Gruver of Aledo, Texas, and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Gruver is also survived by his brother Irvin "Sonny" Gruver of Greely, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father Irvin Gruver, mother Blanche Gruver and sister Marian Constant.
Memorial services will be held at the Smith River Baptist Church, Highland and U.S. Hwy. 101 North, Smith River, at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
