She has several nieces and nephews from New Jersey and Washington who meant a great deal to her, in particular Wanda (Brannin) Lawton (Lacey, Wash.) who consistently stayed in touch with her Aunt Helen and frequently asked that she move to her convalescent hospital in Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Otto Tintle; her parents and brothers Kenneth and Ward Brannin.

She graduated from Butler (New Jersey) High School in 1934. She worked in the American Hard Rubber Mill in Butler, before and during World War II doing various jobs. Helen married in 1938 and became a homemaker after their first child.

The family moved to California in 1950 and to Crescent City in 1959. She was employed by Daly’s department store for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1979. They traveled in their RV for 15 years chasing sunshine in the winter months. Her most memorable vacation was a trip to Hawaii around 1980 with Velma DeGross Brown and her husband Dude Brown.

Helen and Otto loved to square dance. They were members of the Chetco Swingaroos, and traveled many places just to square dance or round dance. They actively danced until their late 70s, and only stopped because of health issues. Helen was a wonderful cook and prepared many meals for friends and family. Her hobbies consisted of reading, crafts, sewing and music of any kind. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 30 years and loved her church family.
