Helen Marie (Brannin) Tintle, 94, died March 12, 2011, in Crescent City. She was born July 14, 1916, in Bulter, Morris County, New Jersey, the oldest of three children to Horace and Eva (Vreeland) Brannin.
She is survived by her children Carol Ann Molloy and husband Alan of Manifee, Calif., and Marlene Tintle Young and husband Michael of Crescent City. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cindy Paul (Becky and Katie) of Manifee, Calif., Scott Molloy (Rachel, Tiffany and Halie) of Golden Valley, Ariz., Jeffrey Anderson and wife Julie (Austin and Abigail) of McKinleyville, Bradley Anderson (Kallie) and Corinne Higgins and husband Kennith (Nick and Derek) of Crescent City.
She is also survived by her step-grandson Steven Young and wife Cindi of Crescent City, (Daniel from Colorado), JaCinda (Katherine and Sophia), Gregg (Jacob and Michael).
She has several nieces and nephews from New Jersey and Washington who
meant a great deal to her, in particular Wanda (Brannin) Lawton (Lacey,
Wash.) who consistently stayed in touch with her Aunt Helen and
frequently asked that she move to her convalescent hospital in
Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Otto Tintle;
her parents and brothers Kenneth and Ward Brannin.
She graduated from Butler (New Jersey) High School in 1934. She
worked in the American Hard Rubber Mill in Butler, before and during
World War II doing various jobs. Helen married in 1938 and became a
homemaker after their first child.
The family moved to California in 1950 and to Crescent City in 1959.
She was employed by Daly’s department store for 20 years prior to her
retirement in 1979. They traveled in their RV for 15 years chasing
sunshine in the winter months. Her most memorable vacation was a trip to
Hawaii around 1980 with Velma DeGross Brown and her husband Dude Brown.
Helen and Otto loved to square dance. They were members of the Chetco
Swingaroos, and traveled many places just to square dance or round
dance. They actively danced until their late 70s, and only stopped
because of health issues. Helen was a wonderful cook and prepared many
meals for friends and family. Her hobbies consisted of reading, crafts,
sewing and music of any kind. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church for over 30 years and loved her church family.

at Crescent City Nursing and Rehab, 1200 Marshall Street, Crescent City,

A memorial service will be held at Wier’s Mortuary in Crescent City
on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 10 a.m.

Crescent City.
