Humberto H. Vera
Humberto was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, on March 25, 1934, and passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in Crescent City.
Humberto moved in 1958 to Klamath, where he met his wife Jessie. They married in May 1960. He worked for Simonsen Mill for 31 years until 1980. Then he went to work at the mill in Brookings. After being laid off there, Humberto spent his last 25 years working at Eureka Fisheries and in the lily bulb fields in Smith River.
Humberto enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards, but mostly spending time with his loved ones.
Humbert was preceded in death by his father Jose Vera, mother Ma Jesus Hernandez, and brother Juan Vera.
He is survived by his brother Guadalupe Aguilar from Mexico; his wife Jessie; daughter Yolanda and her husband Ernesto Romero; sons Humberto Jr. and Ramon Vera; daughter Susan and her husband Juan Ramirez; grandchildren Rosanna and her husband Jorge Gonzalez, Carmen and her husband Dale Gavin, Secilia Romero, Sephina, Humberto III, Mannito, Esabella and Gabryella Vera, Juan and Marisela Ramirez; great-grandchildren Jorge and Joaquin Gonzalez; and numerous extended family members.
A visitation will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. Private family services were held.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
