Janice LaRue (Schrock) Sausser was born November 25, 1931, in Sabetha, Kansas, to Chester and Roxie Moorehead. She attended and later graduated from Seneca High School in 1950. She worked in admissions at Seaside Hospital then worked as a switchboard operator for Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City.
LaRue was previously married to Floyd Schrock and to that union were born three children. The marriage ended in divorce and LaRue married John Wesley Sausser, Jr. in Eugene, Oregon, on May 10, 2003.
LaRue passed away April 29, 2011, at the Golding Living Care
Center in Maryville, Missouri, at the age of 79. She is preceded in
death by her parents. LaRue is survived by her husband John Sausser of
Clearmont, Missouri; children Susan Stone of Crescent City, Michael
Schrock of Redding, and Janis Morgan and husband Rowdy of Grants Pass,
Ore.; step-daughter Vickie Krueger and husband Gary of Trimble,
Missouri; 2 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; sister Mary Brown of
Austin, Tex.; half-sister Sandy Hattock and husband Francis of
Leavenworth, Kan.; half-brother Chester Moorehead and wife Judy of
Leavenworth, Kan., and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She loved cats, was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable, and
her passion in life was her painting.
Services were held May 5, 2011 at Clearmont Christian Church,
Clearmont, Missouri.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
