Obituaries: Jeanette Elizabeth Ashford (Nov. 27, 1946 – April 13, 2011)

Jeanette Elizabeth Ashford, former resident of Dublin and most recently living in Concord, was born November 27, 1946, in Crescent City. She passed away April 13, 2011, after a valiant and blessedly short battle with cancer. She attended Crescent Elk Elementary, then graduated from Del Norte High School. She attended Humboldt State College in Arcata, and graduated from Chico State College with a degree in economics.

Jeanette blessed us all with her sharp wit, courage, optimism and her devotion to her family and many wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her father Walter Schindhelm. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Schindhelm, her daughter, Melissa, and brother, Karl Schindhelm.

We will all miss her. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jeanette’s memory to The Salvation Army, Concord, Calif. Mail to: The Salvation Army, 3950 Clayton Rd. Concord, Calif. 94521. Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Monday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at The United Methodist Church on 664 H St., Crescent City
