Jeffry Scott Settani passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 27, 2011. Jeff was a seven-year resident of Del Norte County and a successful business owner. He was born in Coral Gables, Fla., on January 31, 1959. Jeff graduated from Palmetto Senior High in Miami in 1977, and moved from Miami to San Francisco in 1979 to join his mother and sister, who had moved two years prior. He married his loving wife Virginia and settled in California to raise his family. He was a devoted husband, a caring and affectionate father and grandfather.
His favorite sport was football, his favorite teams were the Miami Hurricanes and the Miami Dolphins, his favorite foods were hamburgers, cookies and ice cream. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed the cool weather of the California North Coast.
He will forever be remembered for his selflessness, compassion, and
loving nature; he was always one to put others ahead of himself.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Settani, daughters Jennifer
Savoy, Valerie Settani, and Julia Settani, grandson Nicholas Savoy,
granddaughter Annamarie Savoy, all of Crescent City; sister Joan
Mauroni, nephew Bryan Mauroni, niece Alexis Mauroni, all of Novato,
Calif.; mother Sandra Steder of San Anselmo, Calif.; and father Joseph
Settani of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. He is going to be greatly missed. He
will always be a part of us, and will always be loved and never be
forgotten.
A celebration of his life will be held at the family home on Sunday,
October 9, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing
Jeff is welcome.
