Obituaries: Jerry Lee Adamson(1946-2007)

Jerry Lee Adamson, 61, died in Crescent City July 17th.

He was born Feb. 5, 1946 to Mabel and Charley Adamson in Rupert, Idaho and moved to Crescent City with his family at the age of 4.

Jerry hated going to funerals or even memorial services, so his wish was that no one had to go to his. He just wanted to be sent back to Arkansas and that is exactly where he is headed.

For 35 years Jerry worked for several moving companies, a profession that he loved. He finally owned his own business.

He loved to go dancing, play pool and shoot the bull for hours. He was well liked by many and had lots of friends stopping by to visit.

He is survived by his companion of 16 1/2 years, Maja Nicol, and his stepson Jon Montonen of Crescent City, his older brother, Charles Vaughn (Louann) of Martinez, younger brother, Michael Adamson of Crescent City, brother-in-law, James Dulaney and his son Kevin Adams-Rigeway of Crescent City.

Jerry and his first wife, Elaine, had six children. Three are living in Arkansas: Jerry Dewayne Adamson, Tony Lee Adamson and Kimberly Elaine Shackelford.

He is survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two nephews, Darrell Adamson and Robbie Vandusen; four nieces, Cheryl Culpepper, Julie Bergren Dorothy Shields and Marie Reed.

He was preceded in death by his children, Tony Lee the first, a baby daughter, and charles David, along with his parents and his sister, Beverly Dulaney.

He will be buried in the Cogburn family plot located in Fancy Hill, Ark. with his son, Tony Lee the first. His immediate family will attend the burial, which was his wish.
