Jo Ann Gnadig died April 3, 2008, at a local care facility. She was 65. She was born Oct. 27, 1942, in San Francisco, a daughter of Edward Warren and June (Black) Gnadig.
Jo Ann lived in Crescent City for the last 10 years. She was a compassionate and caring person, and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her father Edward Warren Gnadig of Crescent City; son Mark Allen Byram of California; brothers Edward Charles Gnadig of Harbor, Ore., and Victor Allen Pierce II of Camino; sisters Barbara Bashera of Crescent City, Diane Hyatt of Fallon, Nev., Christine Brewer of Oroville; one grandchild, Corinne Byram; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother June Pierce; step-father, Victor Allen Pierce I; son Michael Maurice Byram and an infant daughter.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 19 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1230 Blackwell Lane, Crescent City.

Cremation is under the direction of Redwood Memorial Care, Crescent City.
