Jonathan left us on Feb.15, 2011, in Crescent City.
Jonathan was born here in Crescent City on April 14, 1986. Jonathan graduated from Del Norte High School in 2004, where he loved to play football.
After high school, Jonathan found that he loved to build. Jonathan was an artist with his hands and was a natural craftsman. If you walk through his mother’s home you will see many examples of his touch.
Jonathan loved to spend time with his family. Jonathan lavished his
love on his nieces and nephews, Milan, Julian, TJ Hailey and Alyias.
Jonathan could often be found with his brother Matt, encouraging him
with pride in his music. Jonathan also enjoyed fishing with his father.
He loved the outdoors and being on his natural high. Jonny enjoyed going
out with friends and family and appreciated the presence of his loved
ones. He loved playing with the family dogs and his closest love Roco.
Jonny was eased by the sounds of reggae, but had love for all varieties
of music, even when forced to repeatedly listen to his brother’s latest
songs. Through the good and hard times Jonny managed to keep the
brightest smile from ear to ear, something we will never forget.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Sue Herrera, father and
step-mother, Joe and Linda Espinoza, sisters, Melinda Espinoza,
Jennifer, and Elizabeth Herrera, and his brothers, Christopher Herrera,
Josh, Gino, Anthony, and Michael Espinoza, and Matthew and Travis
Chadwick.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at 10 a.m.,
at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 527 3rd St., Crescent City. A reception
celebrating Jonathan’s life will be held at the Knight’s Hall, across
the street, immediately following. Contributions to assist the family
can be made at Chetco Federal C.U. under Jonathan’s name.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
