June Marie Anderson, 76, died on Nov. 14, 2007 at her home. She died of cancer.
She was born April 9, 1931 in Long Beach, a daughter of Willis Russell and Helen Alma (Uden) Hoffman, and was raised in Compton.
On April 2, 1949, she married Galen Lee Anderson in Yuma, Ariz., and graduated later that year from Newport Harbor Union High School.
The Andersons lived in several Southern California cities before relocating to Phoenix in 1967. While in Phoenix, June was employed as a hospital surgical technician.
The family returned to California in 1976, and following Mr. Anderson's retirement in 1993, moved to Crescent City.
June was a member of the Wesleyan Church for most of her life, and had attended the Crescent City Church of the Nazarene. She was a devoted homemaker, and had worked hard to provide for her family with her gardening, canning, sewing and other homemaking skills. She was generous with her time and talents in raising not only her own children, but others as well. She was very artistic and loved to paint. She also enjoyed needlework and jigsaw puzzles.
June is survived by four daughters, Gail Lynn Penrose of Phoenix, Annette Marie Neal and husband Nathaniel, of Paramount, Rose Marie Otto and husband Robert of Tempe, Ariz., and Ruth Ellen House and husband Kent of Bieber; one son, John Stephen Anderson of Crescent City; a sister and brother-in-law, Louella and Wayne Rhodes of Council, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pauline Snavely; two brothers, Edward Hoffman and Willis Russell Hoffman Jr.; and two infant daughters, Jeannette Louise Anderson and Esther Jean Anderson.
Funeral services and interment will take place in Southern California.
