Leonard "L.B." Hartwick, 78, died on November 28, 2007 in Crescent City. He was born on August 13, 1929 in England, Ark. He was a 54-year resident of Del Norte County. Mr. Hartwick was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he was a local building contractor with his brother Bill. Their company was named Hartwick Brothers Construction. They built and operated Northwoods Inn and Restaurant during the late 70s and early 80s.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eunice Hartwick of Crescent City, and sons Larry Hartwick and Todd Hartwick both of Crescent City; grandchildren Daniel Hartwick, Gary Hartwick, Ashley Hartwick, and Faith Hartwick all of Crescent City; Alisha Evanow of Medford, Ore.; brother Bill and sister in law Rolane Hartwick of Crescent City, sister-in-law Janice Hartwick of Crescent City, and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will be held at Wiers Mortuary Chapel on Monday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at Wier's Mortuary Chapel, with private interment at the Del Norte County Veteran's Cemetery. Fellowship will follow at the family home.
