Lora Dunham, 88, went home to Jesus on March 22, 2011. Lora was born in Waldport, Ore., and moved from West Virginia to Eureka with her husband Ray in 1946 and on to Crescent City in 1955. She was a homemaker throughout her life raising three children, but also helped maintain her husband’s fishing business.
Lora was a woman of the Lord and a member of the Foursquare Church. She lived her life to the fullest with her memories of traveling the world with her husband, playing the piano at church and spending time with her family.
Lora’s greatest love and joy was her family. Attending grandchildren’s sporting events and family gatherings were frequent pleasures in her life. She also gave a lot of time caretaking for ill family members. She always showed amazing generosity and compassion for her loved ones. Though Lora experienced many tragedies in her life, she continually passed on her eternal faith in Jesus. Lora’s spirit will continue on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed, but she would want each of us to be comforted by the reminder that she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lora was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dunham; son, Paul
Dunham; daughter, Beverly Young; grandson, Travis Young and numerous
family members.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Gavin and husband Leon;
son-in-law, Garry Young; daughter-in-law, Janet Dunham all of Crescent
City; grandchildren, Paris Camarena and husband Jeff of Corral Springs,
Fla., Trisha Rook and husband Ray, Lindsey Dunham, Ryan Dunham, Leslie
Ingram and husband Perry, Terry Gavin and wife Marnie, all of Crescent
City. She also leaves behind 17 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren.
