Louise M. Kyle went home on September 20, 2011, after struggling with kidney disease.
She was born January 12, 1936, in Eureka. Louise grew up in Humboldt County where she met and married the love of her life, Wesley John Kyle. Together they raised three children.
Aside from the full time job of raising children, she worked outside the home in the fields of accounting and collections.
During her working years, she often volunteered time and talent to
help those who couldn’t advocate for themselves. She championed the
displaced timber workers when the Redwood National Park decimated the
timber industry in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Because of her hard
work, hundreds of timber workers were given the opportunity to train for
other employment or given a severance payment for those at the end of
their working careers. She embodied the American spirit of service to
others and justice for those who didn’t have a voice.
Once retired, she and her husband moved to Siskiyou County where they
enjoyed 10 years of their retirement. Due to illness, they relocated to
Crescent City in order to be closer to family. While in Crescent City,
they also met many wonderful people that loved and supported her during a
difficult season of illness and the eventual death of her husband of
over 50 years.
Louise loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and passed that legacy
on to her children. Her love and passion for God’s word was seen in the
many worn and often read bibles in her home. During her time in
Crescent City, she called the Crescent City Foursquare congregation her
church family.
Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, mother, father,
and daughter-in-law. She is survived by her son Duane and
daughter-in-law Donna Kyle, son Wes Kyle Jr., daughter Betty and
son-in-law Leonard Bucher. She is also survived by her four
grandchildren that gave her the will and desire to battle kidney disease
for over two years. They are Daniel Kyle, Jeanette Kyle, Ashley Bucher,
and Kylie Bucher.
Friends and family are invited to come and celebrate Louise’s “race well run.”
Visitation will be held at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel on Monday, September 26, from 9 a.m. until Funeral Services at 1 p.m.
