Margaret Pauline "Polly" LeDuc was born Dec. 22, 1915, in Moulton, Iowa, to Clarence and Floy Powell. She passed away on Oct. 21, 2008, in Crescent City. She was a 19-year resident of Del Norte County. Polly has seen buggies give way to cars, kerosene give way to electricity and wash tubs give way to washing machines, she had lived through five major wars, seen man land on the moon and was among the first generation of women to cast a vote. Polly had been a superb friend, mother, wife and grandparent.
She is survived by her son Joe (Laura) Roller of Mesa, Ariz.; her daughter Karen (John) Barkhurst of Crescent City; her sisters Barbara Powell of Crescent City, Clara (Billie) McMann of Kahaka, Mo.; her brothers Eddie (Linda) Powell of Novinger, Mo., and Gary (Marilyn) Powell of Green Castle, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; eight-great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her dog, Muffy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ecton Powell, and her husbands, Alex Roller, Vic Anderson and George LeDuc.
Private services will be held at her request. Private interment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
