Margaret Ruth Kring went to live with the Lord on June 11, 2011. She passed on surrounded by her family and friends in her own home. Margaret was born in Crescent City, to Charles and Willia Bosch on August 21, 1932. In 1941, her family moved to Napa, Calif., where her father worked in a shipyard during WW II. In 1946 her family decided to move to Eureka, where she would live until she graduated from high school in 1950.
In 1951, she moved to Orick, Calif., where she met Robert Kring and they were marred in 1953. They worked together on their dairy farm until the 1964 flood destroyed it. After the flood they moved made the move to Crescent City in 1965. In 1987, she opened her home as a daycare provider and home Head Start. During her 15 years of childcare service she touched many lives and went from Margaret Kring to Mamo, a name her oldest granddaughter gave her, and all her daycare children came to call her.
Maragret “Mamo” Kring is survived by her brother Robert Bosch and
wife Sue Bosch, her sister Beverly York and husband Bill York, her
daughter Deborah Short and husband Gary Short; sons Charles Kring, and
Jeffrey Kring and wife Ann Ksidakis. She is also survived by her three
granddaughters Elizabeth Tweeton and husband Aaron Tweeton, Katherine
Short, Meggan Smith and five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Soren,
Harlin and Dylan.
A celebration of life service will be held for her family and friends
in August.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel of
Crescent City.
