Martin "Marty" Waters, 49, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, in Gasquet. He was born on Aug. 16, 1957, in Mountain Home, Idaho.
Marty saw life as a beautiful journey and an adventure. His experiences took him to many places, but above all he loved people and helping people. He followed his dream by completing his education with a doctorate's degree in neuropsychology with the Alliance University of California-Fresno in 2000. His journey thereafter took him to Reno, Nev. for one year working for the VA Hospital in his internship. In September 2001, he and his wife, Julie, moved to Shelton, Wash,. to complete his post doctoral training and in 2002 they moved to Crescent City which he phrased as "Heaven of Earth." He worked for Pelican Bay State Prison until his departure. He loved his life, loved people and most of all loved family and friends.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Julie Waters of Crescent City; daughter Crystal Gunderson of Boise, Idaho; stepson Shaun Fitzgerald of Boise, Idaho; step-daughter Stacy Fitzgerald of Boise; brother Wayne Waters of Mountain Home, Idaho; sisters Collen Swenson of Mountain Home, Idaho, Marla Kessell of Mountain Home, Idaho, Pam Bromley of Kuna, Idaho, Julie Humphreys of Washington State, and Lorraine Kunze of Maple Valley, Wash. He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Waters, and parents, Lloyd and Vivian Waters.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Wier's Mortuary Chapel, 408 G St. Arrangements are under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel.
