Obituaries: Michael Dolan Campbell (Nov. 25, 1947 – Feb. 23, 2011)

Mike was born November 25, 1947, in Memphis Tenn. He grew up in Memphis, graduated high school in New Jersey and went into the Air Force after high school. His final military station during Vietnam was at the Klamath Air Force base, where he discovered the beauty, charm and wonders of the North Coast.

Mike settled in Crescent City, becoming an avid outdoorsman spending most of his time fishing on the Smith, Klamath and Chetco rivers. Many more salmon and steelhead will spawn due to Mike’s passing.

Surviving is his wife Doreen Campbell and children Sarah, Jason, Jennifer and Ben. Mike has five wonderful grandchildren that he loved dearly; Sienna, Dante, Evan, Makai and Emma.

There will be a private memorial for Mike. We ask that all of those who wish to share a blessing for Mike do so next time they visit the Smith River.
